Actress Meena, who once ruled the silver screen, is making a comeback of sorts in Mollywood with two superstar projects in her kitty. She will be seen in
Jeethu Joseph’s Mohanlal-starrer
Drishyam. The director, who has delivered family hits like
Mummy & Me and
My Boss, will team up next with
Mohanlal for yet another family entertainer, and Meena will play his wife. The duo was last seen together in Rosshan Andrrews’
Udayananu Tharam.
Earlier, the director had shared that the movie will see Mohanlal in a different avatar. “This will be the story of a man who fights for his family. It will also give equal importance to the female characters as it is the case in
My Boss and
Mummy & Me,” says Jeethu.
Drishyam will see Meena essaying the role of a mother of two, one of whom is a teenager. The movie will start rolling in September.
Meanwhile, the actress will also be seen in Pramod Payyanur’s much awaited movie,
Balyakalasakhi, which is the adaptation of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s novel by the same title. A love story, it revolves around the life of Majeed and Suhra. While
Mammootty will be seen as Majeed, Isha Talwar will play Suhra’s character. Interestingly, Meena will be seen playing Majeed’s mother here. The last time she gave a notable performance in Mollywood was for the Mammootty, Sreenivasan-starrer,
Katha Parayumbol.
